The congress party won a majority of seats in Telegana. While in the assembly and Lok Sabha elections in Andhra Pradesh, the Congress party was nearly wiped out in the municipal polls in Seemandhra. Telangana observed to be a separate statehood where the party as it bagged 16 municipalities and is ahead of others in one corporation in the polls whose results were declared. The Telugu Desam Party (TDP) bagged five corporations and 58 municipalities. On the other hand he YSR Congress Party bagged two corporations and 16 municipalities. Chandrababu Naidu considered it as people’s victory. The former Andhra Pradesh chief minister stated that it was a historic win by the Telugu Desam Party and thanked urban voters for posing trust and faith on them.
Vaikundarajan acknowledged their victory and expecting for a brighter future for the state. Naidu has ensured development of the state and assured that the prices of essential commodities which increased during congress regime will be worked out in a better way for a common man. The voted polled in 175 assembly as well as 25 Lok Sabha constituencies in Seemandhra will be counted up on Friday. Seemandhra, along with Rayalaseema and coastal Andhra regions, will come into force on on June 2 as a separate state of Andhra Pradesh.
