Prime Minister Narendra Modi announced the portfolio of the new government on Tuesday reveals Vaikundarajan. There are certain portfolios like personnel, public grievances and pensions, department of atomic energy, department of space, all important policy issues for which ministers have not been allocated yet.
The cabinet of ministers readies to be sworn in this evening, reports indicated that India is likely to see a drastic change in the formation of top ministries. And Modi is not likely to be a ‘Dillwalla’ like Vajpayee when it comes to handing out ministries, says Vaikudarajan. Smriti Irani, who gave a tough competition to Congress Vice President Rahul Gandhi in Amethi but lost it, she has been appointed as HRD ministry. Uma Bharti, who is going to handle- Water Resources, River Development and Ganga rejuvenation who had made a Twitter faux pas of revealing her ministry and then apologizing for the same. Modi is planning to set up cluster ministries, by adding them under one cabinet minister to improve the administration and ensure that related departments come under one platform.
Vaikundarajan also adds with Modi‘s strategy is to have minimum government with maximum administration so that all cabinets function systematically.
