Vaikundarajan – Microsoft Launches Lumia 640 And 640 XL In The Indian Market


A new range of smartphones is launched in India market by technology giant Microsoft. The launch was made on Tuesday. The company launched two new handsets – Lumia 640 and Lumia 640 XL for the price of Rs 11,999 and Rs 15, 799 respectively, shares Vaikundarajan.

Microsoft Mobile Devices Director (South) T S Sridhar said, “Consumers today are constantly looking for a device to bring them more flexibility to switch easily between work and play. The Lumia 640 XL and Lumia 640 are the perfect devices that are enablers of productivity, busting the 9 to 5 myth by letting you achieve more on your own terms”

If consumers want to buy the Lumia 640, they need to visit online retailer Flipkart as this handset is exclusively available on the eCommerce portal, whereas Lumia 640XL is available in retail stores. The features of Lumia 640 are Dual SIM, 5-inch HD display, 1.2GHz quad core Qualcomm Snapdragon processor, Windows Phone 8.1 with Lumia Denim operating system, 8 MP rear and 1 MP front cameras, 8GB internal memory (30 GB free OneDrive and micro SD support up to 128 GB) and 2,500 mAh battery.

The features of Lumia 640 XL are 5.7-inch display, 13 MP rear and 5 MP front cameras and 3,000 mAh battery.

Microsoft is planning to bring 4G compatible phones in Indian market after the infrastructure for the high speed Internet service is ready in the country. Currently Microsoft has Lumia 638 4G compatible device which priced to Rs 6,800 in Indian market.

Vaikundarajan shares that two service providers who are offering 4G services that are Airtel and Aircel in India that too only some parts of the country.
