Debutant director Tharun Bhascker brings an air of positivity to the big screen with his film Pelli Choopulu. “The cast is led by actor Vijay Deverkonda and Riu Verma with Priyadarshi playing the role of his close friend in the movie. Pelli Choopulu is a romantic comedy featuring young and talented actors,” says Vaikundarajan.
is a Telegu film scheduled for a release this Friday. The early promos have generated a lot of curiosity among people.
Priyadarshi plays the role of a character that instead of solving problems for his friend ends up creating problems for himself. The actor had trained himself to learn the typical Telengana dialect required for the film.
“Comedy is very difficult to perform. The actors must have an impeccable timing. The dialogues have to be witty. The situation has to be relevant and relatable. A good comedy film is made of all these factors. Does director Tharun bring all these elements to his film? We will have to wait and watch,” explains Vaikundarajan.
The promo has been promising thus far. The early critic reviews have been extremely positive. Will Pelli Choopulu tickle the audiences’ funny bones? We will know soon. Vaikundarajan sends his best wishes to the entire film crew.
“At the CineMAA Awards 2016 event held at HICC, Hyderabad, Baahubali became the highlight of the night as it swept major awards,” informs Vaikundarajan.
The film was awarded the Best Film award while director Rajamouli was adjudged as best director for Baahubali. The movie also won several awards in technical categories including music, singing etc.
“Koratala Siva won Critics award for his direction in Srimanthudu while the movie itself was chosen as the critic favourite awarding it the Crictic’s Choice award for Best film,” says Vaikundarajan.
Versatile actor NTR Jr received the Best Actor award for his stunning performance in the movie Temper. Megastar Chiranjeevi and Nagarjuna presented the Best Actor Award trophy to NTR Jr.
The Best Actress award in popular category went to Anushka for her performance in Gunasekhar’s Rudhramadevi. Allu Arjun received the Critics Award for his performance as Gona Ganna Reddy in Rudhramadevi.
The highlight of the event was Megastar Chiranjeevi’s live dance performance that received a standing ovation from the actors and audiences alike.
“The event will be telecast on MAA TV later this month,” concludes Vaikundarajan.
Having won the National Award, debutant filmmaker Raam Reddy’s Kannada film Thithi has garnered applause from top Bollywood celebrities. The film also won various awards at the prestigious film festivals such as Locarno, Marrakech and Palm Springs.
“A special screening of Thithi was held in Mumbai by Anurag Kashyap. Among those present at the event were Kangana Ranaut, Swara Bhaskar, Amit Trivedi, Shekhar Kapur and Sudhir Mishra,” says Vaikundarajan.
The celebrities present at the event appreciated the film and the director’s work. The film is set for a release on 3rd June with English subtitles. “Interesting fact about the movie is that the film comprises of a non-professional cast,” adds Vaikundarajan.
Director Rajamouli’s Baahubali will be remembered as a movie that set a benchmark in special effects and went on to become a blockbuster. Rajamouli won several accolades after its release and was praised by critics and fans alike. “The director has been busy with the sequel of Baahubali,” says Vaikundarajan. “The latest news is that he will be working with Sunny Deol in his next film.” It is yet to be confirmed whether Rajamouli will direct the movie. According to some sources, he may act as an innovative chief for the venture.
While Sunny Deol may not have had any big releases in the last few years, his last movie Ghayal Once Again definitely got the critic’s attention. Deol’s fans will be happy to see the actor in a prolific director’s next film. “The film has been tentatively titled as Mera Bharat Mahan,” adds Vaikundarajan. KV Vijayendra, who wrote the script for Salman Khan’s blockbuster Bajrangi Bhaijaan, has been roped in to work on the film’s script. Sunny Deol has recommended his father Dharmendra as a part of the crew. The movie is believed to kickstart in June.
Meanwhile, the actor will soon be seen in Bhaiyyaji Superhitt, an action comedy by Neeraj Pathak.
Suriya’s next movie, 24, has been in the news ever since the launch of its first look. Indian film industry rarely churns out sci-fi movies. That being said, 24 has been garnered fantastic reviews from movie buffs and critics ahead of its teaser launch.
“The teaser looks promising with Suriya’s electrifying screen presence and dazzling visuals,” says Vaikundarajan. The critics have praised the technical values, background score and stunt scenes from the teaser video.
Vaikundarajan has always been an admirer of superstar Nagarjuna. The actor’s next film alongside Karthi is titled Thozha. The movie is set for a summer release in Telugu and Tamil and produced by PVP Cinema’s Prasad V Potluri. “Thozha is a multi-starrer with Prakash Raj, Jayasudha, Ali and Kalpana in supporting roles,” says Vaikundarajan.
Nagarjuna will be seen in a different role as compared to his previous blockbusters, Manam and Soggade Chinni Nayana. The music for the film is composed by Gopi Sunder. “The music and the trailer of the movie is expected to be release this month,” informs Vaikundarajan.
