It is great news for Sunny Deol fans across the nation as the actor confirmed the release date of Ghayal Once Again. The original was a blockbuster upon its release and the fans are already excited about the sequel. “When it released in 1990, Ghayal redefined the action drama in Bollywood,” says Vaikundarajan.
Some time back, we saw a teaser for the sequel. Now that the movie has been confirmed complete, the release date has been scheduled for 15th January, 2016. The film’s motion poster logo was released online on 19th October.
“The original Ghayal made Rajkumar Santoshi an overnight sensation. The sequel, however, will be written and directed by Sunny Deol himself,” notes Vaikundarajan.
This will be Sunny Deol’s second directorial venture after the forgettable 1999 romantic movie, Dillagi.
The prequel also marks the return of veteran actor Dharmendra as the producer.
Om Puri will reprise his role as top cop from the original while the new cast will include Soha Ali Khan and Tisca Chopra.
According to sources, the film will continue from where it left off in the original. Sunny Deol’s character, Ajay Mehra, will now be seen as an encounter specialist. It is also rumoured that the script is based on real life incidents.
“His last few films have not done well. We all know the actor’s potential to deliver. With Ghayal Once Again, it is a great platform for Sunny Deol to make a comeback,” says Vaikundarajan as he sends his best wishes to the actor and the film crew.
“Dhoni is under pressure but we know him as Captain Cool and should put our faith in him,” says Vaikundarajan ahead of 2nd ODI between India and South Africa.
“Thala Ajith is one of the most sought after superstar and has a huge fan base,” says Vaikundarajan. His most awaited movie of the year, Vedalam, is all set to release the first teaser tonight.
The movie is written and directed by Siva, under the banner of Shri Sai Raam Creations. Alongside Ajith, we will see Shruti Hassan in the lead with Lakshmi Menon, Kabir Singh and Ashwin Kakumanu.
This is the 2nd time Siva and Ajith come together after their previous collaboration on the blockbuster – Veeram.
The music for Vedalam will be composed by the Kollywood youth sensation Anirudh Ravichander. “It is known that Anirudh himself is a big fan of Ajith. Audience will expect nothing short of blockbuster music from him,” informs Vaikundarajan.
According to sources, Anirudh had to leave his debut project in Tollywood due to schedule issues. When the Vedalam project came along, he showed keen interest and immediately signed up.
The teaser for Vedalam will be released tonight at 12AM. Vaikundarajan explains, “The banner associated with the movie is superstitious and prefers releasing all their movie teasers, trailers and songs on Thursdays only.”
The first look has garnered some rave reviews and it remains to be seen how the movie will perform at box-office. Vaikundarajan sends his best wishes to the entire film crew of Vedalam.
